Most people don’t know about the Harappans, a group of people who lived in the Indus Valley near Pakistan three or four thousand years ago. Although they are little known, they are a really interesting group to study. They were very advanced for their time and were particularly advanced in the area of architecture so it is especially interesting to study their old buildings and the layout of their cities.

One cool thing that you’ll find if you do study Harappan architecture is that these people built all of their homes with both indoor and outdoor kitchens. Of course, these kitchens weren’t modern-day kitchens with built in gas grills and all of that jazz. But for their time, they were very advanced. The very idea of cooking outside when it is warm and inside when it is cold really seems to make a lot of sense.

In fact, there are modern day people living in the area once populated by the Harappans who have adopted this ancient approach to building in their home designs. They have two kitchens even today - one indoors and one outside - in the same fashion as their ancestors from the region. Of course, today they do have those modern gas appliances!

It takes a lot of hard work and practice to have the type of pro golf careers that players have on the PGA Tour.  Many have worked all of their lives to achieve their tour status, and that status is not guaranteed.  Sometimes, professionals have to go through Q-School in order to renew their tour card.  Becoming a professional golfer is tough, but staying in the pro ranks is just as tough.

The great thing about golf is the fact that most players can play well into their 60’s and even 70’s.  There are tours that allow them to stay competitive with people of their relative skill set.  Golf is truly a game for everyone.
