Health Problems of Growing Taller
By lBa on Apr 28, 2008 in Health

Everyone goes through a height increase during their lives. For most people, this occurs slowly throughout childhood and culminates in the growth spurt that occurs at adolescence. For others, there’s a rare increase in height in later adulthood. (For example, someone may ask a doctor what vitamins make you grow taller and use that information to gain height).
For the most part, growing taller is something that we don’t think a lot about while it’s happening. However, there are some health issues that typically occur during this time period that it’s good to know about in advance. These can occur during the growth of puberty as well as during adult growth changes.
The most common problem that people experience while growing in height is muscle aches and pain. It makes sense when you think about it; you’re body is stretching out so it’s going to hurt a little bit. The pain is usually slight and can be ignored. Alternatively, medication such as Tylenol may be recommended by a doctor.
Another common problem that people face during growth spurts is fatigue. Many people don’t even relate their feelings of tiredness with the changes that their body is going through. However, it’s hard work for a body to grow and that can cause you to get sleepy easily. Proper diet and rest should mitigate the problem.
In the end, most of us go through our growth phases without too many side effects. It’s just good to know that the ones that we do experience are normal and should pass quickly!
